Supported Housing Officer / Public Sector – Interim
Salary £16,772 – part-time 30 hours per week

Within this role you will deliver housing and support services to the Association’s supported housing tenants within their mental health services scheme in Dewsbury. You must assess and provide a flexible support package to meet the individual needs of the service users; this will include the provision of both practical and emotional support to enable them to gain the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge to move successfully towards greater independence. This is an interim role until the 31 March 2009.
You will report on the performance of the scheme and ensure that tenant and service monitoring information is properly and accurately maintained and ensure that all day-to-day record keeping is maintained and that the service is monitored in line with the expectation of their funders. You must develop and maintain professional relationships with external agencies in order to maintain the diversity of services they are able to offer and you will actively engage with service users both individually and in groups.
Candidates for this role must have experience working within policy and legislative guidelines and tenants or clients with mental health issues enabling them to gain skills, confidence and knowledge enabling them to maintain a tenancy. You must have an awareness of confidentiality with the ability to create professional boundaries and operate to a strict commitment to equal opportunities. Experience in a support role within a multi cultural environment would be desirable and knowledge of housing management, i.e. issuing tenancy agreements, reporting repairs etc would be advantageous to candidates.
The role requires working 24hr shifts including sleep overs and staff are required to cover the project Monday to Sunday every day of the year, including all bank holidays. There is also a requirement to do on calls to support your colleagues as the role is lone working for the majority of time.
